Why ABV? They are the first three letters of the Cyrillic  alphabet — А, Б, and В. We want our name to be simple yet memorable.

We are starting with Bulgarian and Russian, but we will expand into more languages, as long as there is demand for our content and services.

The learning preferences of foreign language students have undergone a significant change due to recent, and ongoing, technological developments . Many students are less and less interested in traditional lessons on their desktop computers. Instead, they prefer using their smartphones or other portable devices to access diverse, informative, and engaging audiovisual content on the Internet.

The main purpose of this website is to familiarize students with various aspects of Bulgarian and Russian, and to give our users the opportunity to listen to our podcasts, at their convenience.

We will, of course, also teach our students about each country’s history and culture (e.g. customs, literature, music, cuisine, etc.). These subjects will be taught in future episodes of our podcast. Our website will be updated regularly. We will also be offering private online lessons. These lessons will be for people of all proficiency levels — from complete beginners to advanced students. The private lessons will be flexible, so that each student’s individual needs can be met — for example, achieving their desired level on the Foreign Service Institutes’ language test, or on the Defense Language Proficiency Test.

Your input will be an important part of this project. We hope to receive many suggestions regarding desired reading and listening materials.
